While working on Mr. Jackson's assignment in class I was missing the lake. Writing is one of my favorite things to do, especially when i have something special, fun , or important to write about. I was recently adding more conflict and suspense to my narritive about my lake house. I just started to smile at all of my favorite memories. Some with my friends who traveled there with me or with my cousins who traveled from afar just to see us. I miss my aunts and uncles and cousins. I want to taste Aunt Elsa's homemade rye bread toasted warm with melted butter resting upon the brown fluffy crust while I pull my bare legs to my chest sitting on the old plastic chairs. Feeling the morning breeze on my tanned face watchiong the early morning fisherman enjoy the calm blue waters. So while I am writing my narrative and this post, I smile. I smile because I am lucky enough to have wonderful relationships and memories at some place that I keep so close to my heart. While at the lake things get pretty fun and crazy, yet sometimes a good book on the beach can be excellent. This summer I enjoyed Keeping The Moon by Sarah Dessen, my favorite author. A story of a girl who traveled to her grandma's lake house and discovering friendship and love along the way. The main character enjoys her summer as much as I did at her lake so it was easy to relate. This books is probably considered a chick book but I would recomend it to my friends because I love Sarah Dessen. She really expresses the importance of friendship and sticking up for eachother. So please enjoy!
